The calm… before the launch day storm. You’ll be able to get a Sleepout Curtain starting next Wednesday, June 16th!

How to get a Sleepout
We are launching Sleepout on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. The Sleepout Kickstarter campaign is essentially a preorder. You get your Sleepout by backing the campaign.
How it works
The Sleepout Kickstarter campaign runs for 35 days. Between June 16th and July 21st, you’ll be able to see our campaign page on Kickstarter and order Sleepout Curtains through it. You do this by backing the project, in turn for which you receive rewards (the product) that you want to receive. We begin production in July and will ship our rewards (Sleepout Curtains) in the fall of 2021.

Important things to remember
During the first 48 hours of the campaign, you can get your launch day discount price in the form of a special reward - 45% off!
You need a Kickstarter account to back a project. Set your account up here or use the button below.
If it’s your first time using Kickstarter, we recommend reading their helpful resources about their platform. We’ve included the most important below:

We’ve had a blast working with the talented folks at Fable Forest Films to put together our campaign video. While we can’t show you the whole thing yet (that’s coming next week - lookout for another email!), take a look at a few screen grabs below:
Sleep Science: hello darkness, my old friend…
Very few people know that the National Sleep Foundation considers light to be the most important external factor for sleep.
Surprisingly, a breakthrough study of over 100,000 women in the UK found that nighttime light exposure was linked to an increased risk of obesity. This is true even when controlling for other factors, such as sleep duration, diet, daytime activity, alcohol intake, and smoking. Light exposure has been shown to affect the circadian rhythm, which may further impair behaviours and metabolic processes.
Further research finds exposure to light at night (LAN) is linked with an increased risk of depression, cancer, reduced immunity, and faster aging.
So in short: while you’re sleeping, try to make your room as dark as possible.
We don’t have that much of a life update because, 6 days out from launch, Sleepout has taken over our lives! We are so grateful to be lucky enough to follow our dreams to pursue this but the biggest thank you goes out to YOU our readers.
We actually could never express the gratitude we have for all of you out there. We would never be at this point with a fully finished product, financing, patents, supply chain, branding, etc. without the countless hours of help, feedback, and testing from so many. This is truly a product and business built on the back of the sleep community and we are just so happy to be a part of it.
We are feeling the full spectrum of emotions heading into launch day but the biggest, for sure, is gratitude.
